LUSH reviews of a normal human being part 3.

Hello My Lovelies,

so here we are again with the 3rd LUSH product review blog. I know it's not your favourite kind but it's what I write when I have nothing interesting to talk about, and I think it's quite helpful for those who want to try Lush the first time.

Catastrophe Cosmetics Face Mask:
I bought this mask during a period of pimple blooming like no other haha this was supposed to calm the skin and make it more radiant and reduce pimple size etc.
This mask has a lovely lovely lovely blueberry smell, it's like you're putting berry yogurt on your face. Regarding the result.. meh.. it didn't do any "wonders" for my skin so.. I wouldn't get it again.

Imperialis Face Cream:
There's quite a love/hate relationship with this cream. I think it's absolutely perfect for winter, it's quite rich and a little goes a very long way !
The lenght of "life" of this product isn't too long so the little 45gr jar is quite a bit too much for like a month of life. I'm keeping it in the fridge 24/7 so it's quite a bit better but all in all it's a bit too much product.
Lately I've been mixing it with foundation to create a sort of tinted moisturizer, coverage is not the best but I quite like the result.
The purpose of the cream is to mainly calm the skin, it's made with lavender (like Fresh Pharmacy) so it's quite matching. At first I didn't like it but now I love it to bits !! Definitely worth a buy. Although it might be too rich for oily skins and during summer.

Ocean Salt Scrub:
Ingrid (missglamorazzi) has been raving about this on youtube all the friggin time so I decided to finally give in and buy this body/face scrub.
It's main purpose is to be a FACE scrub, but being made with big salt chunks I think it's a bit too aggressive therefore I've been using it on my elbows and knees, it does leave the skin soft but very red afterwards, I rubbed very gently but I always got this result so, for me it's a no. My friend Franziska also bought this and she's not too impressed either. So if you got sensitive skin DON'T buy this.

It Started With A Kiss Lip Tint:
I absolutely love love love this !!! Lately I've been obsessed with orange/corally lip colours (Mac's Vegas Volt <3) so I had to get this one. To be honest when you open it it looks like a water colour, if you actually figure out how to open it. It took 3 bartenders at starbucks and later on actually the Lush shop assistant to open it. In the end it's quite easy just twist but it's closed VERY tightly at first. The colour is very lovely on the lips and OMG the smell !!!! I have no idea how to explain it but I love it so friggin much !!!
In the picture it looks more pinkish but it's definitely a red leaning towards orange. Definitely gonna buy this again in like 10 years when it's finished ;)

Jasmine & Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Mask:
Lush hair masks are always supposed to put into DRY hair which was always kind of off-putting, so this time I decided to put it into damp/wet hair and the results are waaaay better !! First of all you use like 5% of the product instead of the usual 30% for one mask ! Then since this one leaves the hair rather greasy because of the "anti-flyaway" purpose, I would never use it on dry hair. One suggestion, if you use this before straightening your hair it's gonna be horrible, your hair will look greasy and heavy, whereas if you have natural curls and let your hair air dry then the locks will be perfect. I've been doing this for the past weeks on both straight and curls and the curls are just amazing, soft and bouncy. The smell is a bit strong, it smells quite a lot like baby wipes and it stays for 2 days, but it's not very bad. Not sure if I'll buy this again, maybe for the summer time.

Love Lettuce Face Mask:
Ladies and Gentleman !
I found my favourite Lush product !!!!!!!!!!!!
This mask is THE BOMB !!!
It's absolutely amazing, it doesn't promise any miracles just to brighten up your face and hell yeah it really does it's job.
I might be biased since my favourite colour is green and this mask happens to be an amazing green, but the smell of lavender is perfect for my face routine since it matches both my cleanser AND my moisturizer. The texture of the mask is a very light scrub, you put it on an you can feel the granules, when you wash it off you rub your skin and you will shine as bright as the sun. It's really amazing ! I love it to bits, nuff said !!

This is it :) Next time I go to Lush (probably tomorrow) I get a 25CHF gift card :) it's a bit of a p-take but whatever free lush money is free lush money :)
I only plan on buying one thing tomorrow since I stocked up on pretty much everything. I want to buy the Ro's Argan. The shopgirl did my hand with that stuff once and I couldn't stop sniffing my hand all day, I looked like a weirdo on the bus home haha.
We'll see.

Dark Shadows Premiere in Zurich.

Hello My Lovelies,

in german we say "Ein blindes Huhn findet auch mal ein korn" which translates to "A blind hen also finds a corn sometimes" or something like that. Meaning that woohooo even a person like me is lucky from time to time. So, I take part in loads of contests but only now I finally won something. One day Franzi came to me running and said that I got a letter from this german telly channel and well I won 2 tickets to the premiere :)

Yesterday was the day of the premiere, Franzi was driving, technically from our school to Zurich it's 45 minutes... if you don't get lost ehm.. thank god we left with quite some time in advance. Anyway we found to the cinema and it was beautiful such a nice place, outside were poles from the tv channel and inside a red carpet and a little scenario with a casket and mud and all sorts of thingys and also a big red throne where you could take photos.
Who'd have known they'd have something like this.. my dress was more than clashing xD

After walking on the red carpet there was a little cocktail and some finger food waiting for us, sadly the actors weren't there but it was nice anyway.
The cocktail looked like bubbling blood, it was whiskey + cranberry juice + dry ice. Don't get fooled by people telling you that dry ice doesn't change the taste of a drink. Here at school during several events I had cocktails with dry ice and there is ALWAYS a particular taste, it's far from being overwhelming or disgusting but it's there and if you know it, you can taste it. Aside from that the drink was pretty neat.

Before the movie started we were all handed some free popcorn in a little bucket. I got Victoria Winters and Franzi got Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter) but in the end we switched haha so now I own Helena, my love.

This awaited us inside the theatre.

Now.. about the movie !!!

First of all it was GREAT ! I'm going to be very personal here and not talk about the story and spoil anything so it's just a few thoughts I had about it.

Being produced by Tim Burton made it have that typical style that is known among his movies, the special colours and yikes actors haha.
Personally I thought it was going to be a lot funnier, but sadly it wasn't. Really unexpected was that the movie is mainly set in the 70s, which gave it an amazing soundtrack that I absolutely want to have. Amazing was also the appearance of Alice Cooper, performing !
The story itself was sometimes quite confusing but it could also depend on the fact that the movie was shown in english with german AND french subtitles, this was incredibly annoying but then in a country which speaks 3 languages it's a quite normal thing... you should see the medical information leaflets here..almost the size of a newspaper.
Anyway I don't really have much to say about it, besides that I absolutely want to see it again, without subtitles haha. It's a must see. Forget Edward Cullen, Johnny Depp is the new vampire... and... little spoiler... forget Jacob Black too... there's a new Werewolf in town ;)

This was it, premiere over, movie over. Go watch it and make your own opinion about it.

Mickey Mouse, my next employer.

Hello My Lovelies,

for those of you who follow me on twitter or know me IRL this post wont bear many news, for those of you who don't... well.. read this while sitting down :)

Last tuesday (24th) I was supposed to have a phone interview with the Vienna International Paris hotels. Since tuesdays are my days off I decided to get really ready for this interview, you know you kinda gotta "study" the places you might work for just in case they ask you what you know about the hotel. So, the interview was set for 12.00 noon, I was starting to get nervous at 12, since the HR manager didn't call, 13 still no call, 14 no call, 15 I give up and leave to go to town. Majorly pissed off I asked the head of career department what I should do. On Friday during our most boring class I was on FB *cough cough* and decided to call the HR department afterwards. I called and.. nope, once again out of luck, I left my number to the girl who answered me and hoped for the best.

3 o'clock in the afternoon, phone rings, french number, an english speaking guy with a VERY strong french accent starts to interview me (finally) for Vienna International. All together the interview lasted around 7 minutes and it went incredibly smoothly.
All of this to say that...

I'm gonna work for The Mouse !

So this is my amazing news :) I'm not completely working for Disneyland since the hotel I will be working in isn't fully a Disney hotel but still. I'm going to be a castmember, I'm going to have the benefits of being that and also I'm gonna live in the castmember accommodations !!!! I'm so super excited !!! I was quite honest with the HR manager and told him that I've never been to this hotel but of course this is going to be fantastic cause it's going to be completely new, yet, most of the guests are going to visit Disneyland and about that... well... ask me every detail starting from 1992 and I will be able to help you ;) I'm gonna work in Front Office, for those who don't study hotel management, it means standing at the Reception ! (I'm not offending here... I didn't know what Front Office was before I came here) The hotel is all in the style of a Circus, hence the name Magic Circus, and my uniform kinda resembles the one of a Circus Director :)

I'm gonna start working there very very early, usually internships start in july, some in august. Mine.. starts pretty much right after my graduation. I graduate june 13th, train to Paris june 14th and my job starts on the 18th :D But I don't mind.. I think a break would just make me lazy ! I really can't wait to meet my new roommate, because I'm going to share a 2 people flat with someone. Yayy !!!!

I will try to post as often as possible, I'm really excited to live all the way through 6 months of Disneyland Paris' 20th anniversary, I will live through Halloween AND Christmas :) I will live the opening of "The World of Disney Store" and I believe many many other cool things. So if you're interesting in hearing all the news straight from the source, follow this blog !!

Follow your dreams, they will eventually come true (or almost ^_~).

Love and Hugs

"Ob Mailand oder Madrid hauptsache Italien"

Hello My Lovelies,

back to writing a super interesting blog post ;)
So as I said last time, me, franzi and nefeli drove to Milan over the weekend. It was a very interesting 3 hour drive from here and all the time (till it got dark) we were followed by 2 amazing rainbows.

It was our first experience with "Couchsurfing" because we wanted to keep this trip as "cheap" as possible. Couchsurfing involves sleeping at someone's house, for free. Franziska had an account on that page and after a load of rejections and "maybes" we finally found this extremely funny guy.
We shared a room with, 2 french people and 2 russians. We were sharing a king size bed, wasn't too bad.. although.. Nefeli, had something like a fight in her dream and she started hitting me which.. well wasn't too comfy to be honest.
Regarding the whole couchsurfing experience, we all came to the conclusion that we would never do this alone. We picked a guy who had around 200 great references and therefore we were pretty sure we could trust him but to be honest we were a bit scared since, in the end you're still staying at some random, stranger's house. In any case our first couchsurfing experience was a success !

The first evening we went to a quite strange but really funny party, it was a birthday of 7 people.. none of which we knew but it was a lot of fun. On our actual first day we went to the Cathedral, took some photos and then we went to a quite lovely restaurant were I finally had some decent food after months of cafeteria crap.

Sunglasses were a need. After 3 gloomy weeks finally some sun and warm weather.

Boredness leads to creativeness.

Our skinny colleague sitting in the corner of the kitchen.

This could be made into a short video we took paparazzi shots so I have around 400 photos all similar to this xD

On day 2 we technically had planned to visit the Como lake but uhm... yeh.. we kinda.. maybe.. got lost xD We had a GPS (or whatever it's called in english, we call it NAVI in german) but anyway never found the lake so we just burnt some gasoline for jokes. The ride back was quite unspectacular. As soon as we reached the border to Switzerland weather got back to being ridiculous, pouring rain as always.

Anyway this is a quick summary of our trip to Milan. I have some other amazing news to be spoken about in detail soon. It's not completely sure right now but 99.9% it is :D
I'll keep you updated.

Good Night and.. don't be scared if Peter Pan comes into your room, he probably lost his shadow once again.

Love
Julie x
